About
Sarah Gaither is a graduate student at Tufts University on her way to obtaining her Masters and Ph.D in Social Psychology. Prior to coming to Tufts University, she received her B.A. in Social Welfare with a concentration in Psychology in addition to a minor in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of California, Berkeley in May 2007. Before starting as a gradaute student, Sarah worked as the lab manager for the UCLA Baby Lab where they examined infant cognition and perception.
Her main research interests are: interracial relations and perceptions of ingroup and outgroup members; what affects various types of racial perceptions and the use of stereotypes and prejudice amongst children and young adults; and the perceptions and experiences of mixed race or racially ambiguous individuals from both the perceiver’s and target’s perspective.
