About
My research explores the similarities in structure and processing of language and the "visual language" of sequential images, as found in comic books. My research combines theoretical modeling from linguistics, with experimental tools from cognitive psychology and cognitive neuroscience.
While I have a broad theory encompassing every facet of this study, my primary research currently looks at the grammar of visual narrative — how sequential images are comprehended in the mind and brain.
