About

I'm either an aspiring philosopher who writes some poetry or an aspiring poet who knows some philosophy.

philosophical interests: ancient philosophy, history of moral philosophy, value theory, metaethics, metaphysics, philosophy of action (free will), philosophy of religion, philosophical logic, Arabic logic/Avicenna, 19th and 20th century German philosophy.

currently trying to make sense of belief justification, moral epistemology and moral discourse within theistic frameworks and learning a lot from the brilliant and generous Tufts philosophy faculty (can't imagine a better place to learn analytic philosophy.)

other interests:
tracing the invalidity of theological arguments supporting orthodox Muslim beliefs that I find problematic (especially those that pertain to morality) to flawed theories of truth and predication.
reading Arabic commentaries on Aristotle's logic and metaphysics, followed by shamelessly anachronistic philosophical logic discussions.
negotiating the limits of philosophy with other philosophy grad students.
writing Arabic poetry, frequenting Arabic literary salons.
